Who are you jealous of?

When I asked this question one year ago, it forever changed my life.

I realized that the two women that I was particularly jealous of had done things I had told myself couldn’t be done.  One had made a lucrative career in the fitness industry. The other was a great mother and created a life coaching business that was profitable and successful.

I realized that my emotion of jealousy of these two women had a message to teach me.  “You can have it all”.  I knew from the example of these two women that I could be a wonderful wife and mother and also be a very successful businesswoman in the field of my passion.

Take a look at your life.  Who are the individuals that you are most “jealous” of?  Is it the mother of 6 children that has a great body? Is it the talented artist who is also a powerful CEO?  Is there something for you to learn from the success of these people in your life?

A beautiful truth in the universe is that as you appreciate ALL success you literally draw success into your own life.  If you reject the success of others it will have a negative effect on you. You live in a “YES-AND” universe, not a “YES-BUT” universe.  You can have it all – you just have to decide and take action.

Today is the day that you can choose to stop looking for excuses as to why you cannot create the life you deserve.  The most powerful tool of creating is actually letting your self envision what you deserve to manifest in your life.  What dreams are inside of you that if you but let them would manifest into beauty and prosperity in your life?   What book do you want to write? What trip do you want to take? What language do you want to learn?  The answers are inside of you – just listen.  If you stopped coming up with reasons as to why you can’t do things– what would you choose to create in your life?  Listen.  The answers are inside of you.  I believe in you – you can have anything you truly want.

So – it is okay to be jealous.  Use this jealously as fuel to create!

Because of what jealousy taught me, I have a successful business and am doing what I love. I teach men and women how to love themselves and lose weight.  I am living the life of my dreams – awake.  You can too!

Up at 4 am again…..it’s okay to be afraid.

Sometimes I just can’t sleep because I have such amazing ideas come to me around 4 am. From what I have heard, there is something magical about this time of the morning about receiving inspiration. Well, that is how it happens for me.

This is what was inspiring me this morning. IT IS GOOD TO BE AFRAID. No, really, it is not only good, but a great and necessary way to live. A mentor of mine once said that if you are not currently AFRAID of something in your life, than you are not growing. I believe this, I know this. It is what we do with fear that makes the difference.

When we recognize that fear is merely our mind keeping us “safe” and keeping us comfortable in our current situaiton then we can treat it accordingly. Now, this isn’t the kind of fear that is wisdom based: don’t walk behind a dark alley way at night, don’t get in the car of a stranger etc. Rather, I am talking about the fear that just comes from the unknown, fear of failure, or forging new territory in our lives.

You may be surprised to hear that the number one thing I hear from my clients when they start a transformation with me – THEY ARE AFRAID. They are afraid of failing – they have tried everything else, they don’t trust themselves, they don’t want to disappoint me. Trust me, I have heard it all. This is what I tell them….. It is perfect to be afraid because when you feel the fear and DO IT ANYWAY – you create miracles in your life.

One of my favorite quotes is by Ray Bradbury “Go ahead and jump and allow your wings to unfold on the way down”.

These same people that were so afraid to start their transformation journey are never looking back. They are loving themselves, loving their lives, and losing weight. It took trust for them to risk and go for it – it is beautiful and perfect.

BE AFRAID + BE NERVOUS + GO FOR IT ANYWAY = MIRACLES!!

Here is the difference – I assist my clients to deal with the CORE issues that have caused the weight in the first place. The beliefs of unworthiness and self abuse; this is the difference. No diet or workout can fix this and it never could. So if you have failed before, of course you have! It’s time to get real results by dealing with the real issues! Now I am going back to sleep……

It’s LABOR DAY – get off your butt!

This is something that I have to remind myself often of these days….

When I get overwhelmed with all that there is to do in my business and how many lives there are to change….

I remember one thing……GET OFF YOUR BUTT!

What I mean is that there is always more to do – there is always another person to call, client to find, receipt to file, nutrition plan to write. But when I get
caught in the frenzy of this, I lose focus on the truly amazing part of my business –
Changing lives and truly connecting with beautiful souls. This is why I do what
I do. I choose today and everyday to focus on this and GET OFF MY BUTT about
what else I have to DO.

Just like I used to feel with my body – more to fix, more to do, another 5 lbs. to lean out….this is the cycle of the ego mind. It will keep you chasing until you are miserable. So, let’s all choose today to focus on our celebrations and what we love about our businesses and lives. The details will work themselves out.

Crawl out of the gym….

Leg – Blast Workout!

My motto – WORK HARD…THEN CRAWL OUT OF THE GYM. This workout will do it for you!

This is my favorite way to work legs – intense and with short bursts of energy. This not only torches cellulite and fat off of your legs, but works your lungs and cardiovascular system as well. Your legs are made up of such big muscles that they require large amounts of oxygen to fuel them. Therefore, you not only burn fat during this workout, but you build amazing endurance as well!

Start by warming up on a treadmill, bike, or just walking for 5 minutes.

Do 20 repetitions of each exercise:
1. Jump Squats – lower down and then explode up
2. Alternating jumping lunges – lunge and then jump in air when alternating legs
3. Mountain Climbers – put hands on chair or workout bench and then do running motion with legs

Do 5 minutes of jump rope or other cardio (treadmill, bike, elliptical, etc.)

Do 20 repetitions of each exercise:
1. Step ups on bench – 20 each leg. Put one leg on bench and then step up to standing on the bench. Step back down and repeat with alternating legs.
2. Flying jumping jacks – jumping jacks in the air
3. Standing calf raises – raise up on both calves at the same time

Do another 5 minutes of jump rope or other cardio.

Repeat this entire series 3 times.

It’s not about the weight…..

Everything in life that is represented in the physical environment starts with a belief. Beliefs are the powerhouse of creation, the core and foundation of everything we experience in our lives.

If you want to know what you believe, look around at what you have created. Your weight, your relationships, your finances, You in the mirror. I know this might be painful. However, it is the way to unlock the power to truly change the things you don’t like.

Now, take accountability for all that you have created. If you are accountable for everything, you give yourself the power to change it! No more waiting around for someone else to change…you are the CAPTAIN of YOUR SHIP! Exciting and a little scary? Well, that is perfect, this is the way to live and create miracles in your life.

Go today, and buy a beautiful pen and an even more beautiful journal. On the first page write – I AM ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE. Then, just start observing and writing. Look at the mess in your kitchen and ask yourself “how did I create this”….. Look at the weight on your body – ask “how did I create this”. Just listen and write, you will be amazed at the information you find. Observe your feelings of pain, joy, love, betrayal and write about everything.

When you observe it and are aware, you are ready to change. When you are ready, write “I AM READY TO CHANGE.” I could write a book about actual steps to change. However, the truth is there are many ways to change. The first step is recognition and willingness. Get to that place and trust – you will know exactly what steps to take next.

I am fine, thank you…

“How are you today,” says the cashier to you. Without even thinking you respond back “I am fine, thanks” – although you may be angry, upset, and hurt – everything but “fine”.

Is this a problem, to respond back with “fine” without even being honest and authentic about how you really feel? This hard working cashier doesn’t want to be bothered with your real feelings. Or do they?

Well, here is the price we pay as a society living this way. We become more and more disconnected each and every day. Less in touch with how we really feel and more about just putting a smile on and pushing through life. This price is HUGE.

This price is especially huge when emotions are “stuffed” and avoided through food. The weight continues to pack on, and we are more miserable than ever. So it’s time to separate the two – Food is fuel for your body…..Emotions are gifts of the soul.

When emotions are honored and addressed this is HEALTHY! This is BEAUTIFUL! Emotions are the very energy that connects each and every one of us on this planet, in our societies – emotions transcend languages, they are the common thread between us. ENERGY IN MOTION. When there is no emotion between us, there is not ENERGY.

So today and every day, I commit to being more authentic with my emotions. I say to the cashier on a bad day, “I am choosing to be great”, or “Well, I have had a not so great morning, but the afternoon is promising”. You get the picture. Just watch the magic, the connection with everyone in your life blossom.

No one wants to be in a relationship with someone who is not honest and authentic about their emotions. Which is precisely why I have great friends, who I can call and “vent”, they know I am not a negative person. But, they also know I am REAL and I get HURT, ANGRY, and feel BETRAYED.

Of course, the cashier doesn’t need to get the full story, like a great friend could handle on the phone for an hour. But a little more honesty and authenticity sure goes a long way and it feels so good to just LET GO by letting it out and moving on.

All emotion is beautfiul, tears are cleansing, and life is wonderful lived this way today and everyday!

Great Portable Healthy Snacks!

Summer is busy, I know!  That is why it is super important to plan ahead and have things you can grab to eat on the go.  You can carry many of these things in your bag or car at all times- preparation is the key to eating healthy! Also, don’t forget to soak up the sun and enjoy the flowers, nature is “food” for the soul!

Almonds/nuts – This is an amazing non-perishable source of protein and healthy fat.

Rice Cakes – Choose the Lundberg brand that are made from brown rice, my favorite are the caramel corn flavor.  Put 2T almond butter between 2 rice cakes and make a “sandwich”.  Then put in zip lock bag- you can break off pieces in the bag and eat easily at events or on the go.

Protein powder in a shaker cup – Just add water to your protein when you are ready to drink it and shake it up!

Green Protein Powder – You can find this at any health food store or whole foods.  This is basically vegetables ground into a powder that you can drink!  Mix with water in your shaker cup and enjoy!

Envelope packed salmon or tuna – This is an amazing invention to keep tuna/salmon fresh without the mess and hassle of the can.  You can mix this up as tuna salad or just eat out of the envelope.

Dried fruit/fresh fruit – Fresh apples and oranges travel well, but most other fruit is best packed in the dried form.  Look for dried fruit from the organic section of your grocery store.  The more natural the better!

Fruit/Protein bars – These are always a good staple and easy to throw into a handbag or backpack when you are on the run.  I love the more natural bars like Lara and Luna.

Meet Jerky - This is another great source of portable protein.  If you have the option to get this at a whole foods or organic grocery section this will be much healthier.  There are often lots of nitrates that go into preserving the meats.

 

I am crying today…

I just updated my home page and I am really crying here at my computer.

I love what I do as I work with women every single day to fully love themselves and then lose weight.  I always say that if you love yourself at 300lbs, you will love yourself at 130lbs. (or whatever the numbers are for you!)  However, if you don’t love yourself at 300lbs, there will never be enough weight lost to ever love yourself.  EVER!!  This is true, I know this, I have lived this for several decades of my life.

I was meant to teach this and I will spend every day of my life shouting this from the rooftops.

Love is the only way to truly transform your body, your body responds to love.
